Dicen algunas que el tejido fue una excusa para encontrarse. Las mujeres solían encontrarse para tejer y en medio de estas sesiones conversaban sobre sus vidas, fue entonces cuando empezaron a darse cuenta que lo que ellas creían eran hechos aislados de sus vidas personales, eran en realidad condiciones compartidas. Es entonces cuando lo personal se empieza a convertir en algo político.

 

 

They say that sewing  was an excuse to meet. Women used to be knitting and amid these sessions talking about their lives, that's when they began to realize that what they thought were isolated events of their personal lives, were actually shared conditions. Then, personal things  start to turn into something political.

 

 

Λένε κάποιες ότι το ράψιμο  ήταν μια δικαιολογία για συνάντηση. Οι γυναίκες συνήθιζαν να συναντιούνται για να πλέκουν και μέσα στις συναντήσεις τους συζητούσαν για τις ζωές τους. Τότε άρχισαν να συνειδητοποιούν ότι πράγματα που πίστευαν πως ήταν μεμονωμένα συμβάντα της προσωπικής τους ζωής, ήταν στην πραγματικότητα κοινές συνθήκες. Ετσι τα προσωπικά αρχίζουν να μετατρέπονται σε κάτι πολιτικό.
